Tierra Caliente is a geographical region of Mexico that is compromised of three states - Michoacán, Guerrero, and Mexico. To give homage to our lineage, we decided to choose this name to depict the importance of the land and its people. According to my mother, who is native born in Tierra Caliente, she states that the women of this region are fierce and their “blood boils” when they feel deeply passionate about something. I personally identify with my mothers description of a woman from that region - when I feel passionate about a project or new idea, I feel inclined to pursue it until I’ve accomplished it. The blood boils until what it yearns for is resolved and settled.
The color was inspired by the heat that is present in that region of Mexico, which was essential for the production of limes and avocados. With its deep, dark red color, Tierra Caliente depicts the passion, boldness, fierceness and resilience of the people in that region.
